The Steve Reid “Bounce Back” Event 

As many of you already know, Steve had an unfortunate ladder accident this winter which left him with serious injuries.
Although Steve is far from being “out of the woods” yet, with his determination he has been making tremendous progress in his recovery.
To acknowledge his awesome efforts at recovery and rehab, his friends are hosting a social event for him on Saturday evening, March 27.
We will party hardy, but with a purpose. We’d like to take the opportunity to do some fund raising to help defray some of Steve’s unexpected costs.

Tall Ships Are Coming To Toronto

As part of Toronto’s Waterfront Festival, June 30 - July 4, the tall ships will be visiting, and competing, on the Canada Day weekend.
As the focal point of the Toronto Waterfront Festival, we will host tall ships from around the world as the first major port in the Great Lakes United TALL SHIPS CHALLENGE®, a series of tall ship races.

Phone messages will be checked daily.  If you have a concern of an urgent nature, please contact the appropriate Director, or leave a voicemail message on the Club phone requesting that your call be returned.

EYC's regular office hours:
  • Tuesday to Friday - 10am to 6pm
  • Saturday - 9am to 5pm
  • Sunday and Monday - Closed

Please make an appointment before you come in! 

Winter Bar Hours:

Saturday's 12pm to 6pm

The first Saturday of each winter month, the bar will remain open until 9pm for the Winter BBQ.

The bar will be open for Club events.  The bar may close early on some Saturday's when there is a Private Function.

Spirit of Canada ECO 60 Update

Safe, economic and sustainable single-handed offshore racing class to be premiered in the VELUX 5 OCEANS 2010-11.

Clipper Ventures today published the inaugural rules and regulations in relation to the Eco 60, a new class of offshore racing boats who will compete for the first time in the VELUX 5 OCEANS 2010-11. The rules, developed over the last 12 months by the Race Management and a dedicated team of experts, will ensure the safety of the skippers and the boats racing in their own competitive fleet, as well as introduce regulations to reduce costs and encourage a sustainable future for the class. The ECO 60 Class will equally be governed by a number of rules and regulations designed to improve the ecological and environmental impact on the planet. These rules, currently under development, will seek to limit fossil fuel consumption and encourage wind and solar power, taking a message of sustainable living around the world.

Special notice regarding LORAN-C closure


In accordance with the DHS Appropriations Act, the U.S. Coastguard will terminate the transmission of all U.S. LORAN-C signals effective 08 Feb 2010.  At that time, the U.S. LORAN-C signal will be unusable and permanently discontinued.  This termination does not effect U.S. participation in the Russian American or Canadian LORAN-C chains.  U.S. participation in these chains will continue temporarily in accordance with international agreements.
